Protective coatings for wastewater treatment plants

COATINGS FOR PROTECTION OF WASTEWATER TANK

Particularly high requirements are placed on corrosion protection in wastewater treatment plants, where biogenic corrosion actively affects metal and concrete. Pipes, bushings, columns, and tanks are subjected to extreme stresses and must maintain their function permanently and safely – in the worst case, there is a risk of pitting and leakage of wastewater or chemicals.

In addition to the general impact of polluted waters and chemical breakdown products, the chemically aggressive hydrogen sulfide produced affects the reservoirs. Inside containers or pipes, various, sometimes complex bulk materials can attack the steel.

Harsh chemicals, acids, and alkalis, industrial or municipal wastewater, agricultural substrates, or even foodstuffs all have a decisive influence on the life of a tank in direct contact with the interior. This is a difficult task for anti-corrosion coatings.

SikaCor®-950 F (old name)

Macropoxy® 950F is a coating that has proven itself for the protection of concrete and steel. It is used for underground and underwater structures, for example, as an internal coating of tanks, wastewater treatment systems, in the agricultural and chemical industries, etc. It is also suitable for application on wet concrete.

Sika® Permacor®-3326 EG H (old name)

Ideal for corrosion protection of steel surfaces exposed to various media. The main application is the lining of methane tanks, composting tanks, industrial water tanks, waste water tanks, chemical storage tanks and biogas plants. Also suitable as a durable anti-corrosion coating for use in industrial environments.
