Coatings for fuel tanks

SPECIALIZED COATING SYSTEMS

To ensure that all components can withstand long-term exposure to fuel components, specialized coating systems have been developed to precisely match their respective requirement profiles. Furthermore, the interior lining of tanks and pipes must be meticulously planned and prepared. Expected mechanical and chemical stresses, as well as safety and lifetime requirements, are often defined in extensive company standards and specifications. It primarily concerns the long-term chemical resistance of the coating to the medium, ensuring that the product does not affect the coating, and the coating does not compromise the product’s suitability for use.

For tanks, materials are employed not only to protect the inner layer of the metal but also for external weather protection. Additionally, coatings are used for buried tanks to withstand the effects of soil and groundwater
